I feel very privileged to have been asked to fly the flag for “EOTN” again this year. With the return of events it’s a great pleasure to support/ represent a passionate local race company here in the North East. Like many, EOTN have been unable to put on their beloved events over the last year due to the ongoing Pandemic.
I for one am more than happy to see the return of sporting events as it’s been a challenging year for us all & what we must remember is not only does sport matter physically, but it also does mentally.
In the background I have managed to keep a good level of fitness throughout the last year. I have continued to do endurance training in preparation for when events did make a return. When Covid first hit I had to adapt my training and headed indoors and for the first time I made use of a turbo to allow me to continue to get the miles in. I always try to do a minimum of four training sessions a week and mainly divide my time between running and cycling. I am looking forward to seeing you all make a safe return to Try on the Tyne Duathlon in August as it will be an enthralling challenge. Until then keep training & stay safe x
